Sternberg Benjamin Architects Inc. have completed many residential, live/work, retail, commercial and office projects with an emphasis on creative common sense planning. The firm practices a design oriented approach and looks to every project as an opportunity to design new and better solutions. The Principals have designed many residential, live/work and mixed use projects throughout California, Nevada, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New York and Canada. They have recently designed and implemented a number of award winning multi-family, live/work and single family housing projects in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Professional Activities:
San Francisco Building Codes Advisory Committee: Mr. Sternberg served on the 14 member board that presides over and hears all new building code matters for San Francisco.

S.F. American Institute of Architects:
AIA Advisory Design Review Board: Mr. Sternberg helped form this Board and served as a member. This volunteer board was comprised of AIA Architects acting as arbitrators in disputes between building sponsors and neighbors to help ease the load of the S.F. Planning Commission and staff. Also, both principals maintain active involvement with many political committees continuing to build invaluable political contacts both in the city and outside the city government.

S.F. Neighborhood Residential Guidelines: Mr. Sternberg has been active in producing research feedback, with a group of Architects to help formulate these guidelines for the S.F. Planning Department.

Members in S. F. Planning and Urban Research Association, Residential Builder's Association, the Bernal Heights Community Foundation and the Order of Architects (Quebec).
